A belated log of my SL's life with us.

Rusty's crew managed to send me the wrong part, instead of a front
injector pump seal for the 190D I
got another front hardtop mount seal. (Two were ordered for
Jill's new SL.) He said to keep it. So I put
it with this car's spare parts pile.

Jill's car had a fuel leak in the body of the electrical valve (?)
that sits on the side of the fuel distributor. (The infamous EHA
valve.) I stole this one to put in her car for her impending road
trip.
I also found the hood area infested with mouse nests. Great. Need to
put out even more poison I guess.
...After work I bought more D-Con and put some in the garage.

The car's new muffler was delivered today. $265, when bought with
another one. Someday maybe I'll even install it.

I noticed that the U-pull had gotten in a 190E that theoretically has
the same EHA valve, so I ran down there to get it. Skunked! But I
did get a steering wheel with a good airbag. It can replace
this car's that's torn along one edge such that the bag material
shows. About $8, I think. (The whole bill was a bit over $10, and
included a sunvisor that had an intact lighted vanity mirror assembly
that can go to the spares pile.)

Score! The U-Pull had in a 300SE and a 190E 2.3, so I dropped by,
even though the weather was miserable, with heavy cold rain. Both
cars still had the E.H.A I've been looking for, so I got them both.
There's $300 I don't need to spend, assuming at least one of them
works out.

Another score. The U-Pull had in a couple of 190E's, and one of them
still had the E.H.A. Mine, now. With the recent addition of the
560 SEL to the fleet an additional spare
seems in order. But first pick of the litter goes to this car.
