BMW X5, 2006 |
Jill had been lobbying hard for something not too old, and AWD. After many fights (financial, etc.) we settled on something like this. Though a bit older than she'd wanted, she liked this particular car. A newer X5 was not an option.
It was white, which is practical, and had the 3.0l I6, which is a nice engine, plenty strong, and somwhat more economical to operate than the V8 models. It did not have the heated seats that she wanted, and it had a lame-ass factory navigation system (with cassette player!) instead of an in-dash CD player, which is also not to her liking. (Nor did the factory navigation system work, it was missing the disc.)
This is the last-year E53 chassis. It has the M54B30 engine, which features an electronic throttle (!) and the double-VANOS variable valve timing system.
